"The Church - God's Organism for Kingdom Increase"

The Antioch Church - Antioch Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1873!

Antioch Missionary Baptist Church traces its origin to informal services held in various homes as early as 1856. It is said to be the second oldest Black church in Texas and the first Black church in Palestine. Antioch Under the Hill" was formally named Antioch Baptist Church in 1873

As church membership increased, the congregation purchased nearby lots in 1885 and 1887 to build a parsonage and a new sanctuary. That church was destroyed by fire in 1962 and rebuilt in 1964. In 1980, Antioch dedicated a new sanctuary and the former sanctuary became a fellowship hall. Multiple properties and a youth and community center have been added

Antioch has been led by 17 great men of God and currently under the leadership of Pastor Roy G. Duncan, began his service as pastor in 1988 as he continue his call of Excellence. The theme of the church is "Committed to Making a Difference in Time and Eternity". Through the expositional teaching of Bible truths and principles, the church has grown spiritual and numerically. There is outreach to all ages; from the very young to the elderly meeting their spiritual, educational and social needs through various ministries of the church. Great emphasis is given toward children and youth.
